Andy Crawford
NASM Certified Personal Trainer | Health & Longevity Coach | Pickleball Fitness Professional
Andy Crawford was born in western Georgia, but his family moved to Iowa when he was just three years old. From an early age, he was full of energy and quickly developed a passion for sports and competition. His mother, Shirley Crawford, earned her Master’s Degree in Childhood Nutrition and made sure Andy understood the importance of proper nutrition from a young age. Andy often jokes that he was her first guinea pig, benefiting from a healthy diet and active lifestyle that helped shape his future success both on and off the field.
As a student-athlete, Andy excelled in multiple sports. During high school, he earned varsity letters in football, basketball, baseball, and track. His athletic achievements led to All-State honors as both a quarterback and first baseman in Iowa. Following an outstanding high school baseball career, Andy was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds organization. He was also heavily recruited and received scholarship offers in both football and baseball from numerous universities representing the Big Ten, Big Eight, and Southeastern Conferences, including the University of Georgia. He ultimately accepted an athletic scholarship to Iowa State University. Andy continued his athletic career in college and was later drafted by the Montreal Expos organization.
Following college, he continued playing professional baseball in an independent league in Clearwater, Florida, where he competed alongside and against many current and former Major League Baseball players working to earn—or regain—their spot in the big leagues. The experience provided Andy with a unique perspective on elite-level athletic performance, training, perseverance, and the dedication required to compete at the highest levels of sport. The discipline, commitment, and work ethic required to compete at such a high level became lifelong principles that continue to guide him today.
Fitness has always remained a central part of Andy's life. A self-described "gym rat," he has spent decades training, learning, and refining his understanding of strength training, conditioning, nutrition, and athletic performance. Throughout the years, he has trained alongside professional bodybuilders, professional athletes, and professional wrestlers, gaining valuable insight into what it takes to perform at an elite level.
Andy is particularly proud of his daughter, Reese, whose athletic accomplishments mirror the dedication and work ethic that define their family. Reese was a Level 10 gymnast before becoming a standout track athlete at Centennial High School in Roswell, Georgia, where she won a Georgia State Championship in the 300-meter hurdles. She earned a scholarship to Georgia Tech and competed for the Yellow Jackets in the 400-meter hurdles. Following her collegiate career, Reese served as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of North Florida before accepting a position as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Auburn University.
Today, Andy combines a lifetime of athletic experience with his NASM Certified Personal Trainer credentials to help clients achieve their personal fitness goals. While he enjoys working with individuals of all ages and fitness levels, his passion is helping adults over 50 improve their strength, balance, mobility, and overall quality of life. Andy believes that fitness is about far more than appearance. His focus is helping clients build functional strength, maintain independence, reduce injury risk, and improve longevity so they can continue doing the things they love for years to come.
Whether someone is just beginning their fitness journey or looking to take their performance to the next level, Andy develops personalized programs designed to meet clients where they are and help them achieve sustainable, long-term results. When he’s not training clients, Andy enjoys spending time with his family, staying active in the gym, hiking, golfing, attending concerts and continuing to study the latest research in fitness, health, and longevity.
