the keto diet is essentially a high-fat, medium protein, extremely low carbohydrate diet.

The keto diet has gained popularity in the past few years because of its weight loss potential.

The reason people drop weight very quickly while on the keto diet is because the body has to metabolize fats and proteins and transform them into glucose for the body to use for energy.

Our bodies need glucose for energy, and the transformation process from fats and proteins to glucose is a difficult one and requires a lot of energy itself to do this.

So the end result most of the calories that are eaten are burned during the transformation process.

I often say that unless you are of Eskimo dissent you should not even consider the keto diet.

Eskimos have been eating that way for thousands of years, their bodies have adjusted, and are much more efficient at metabolizing proteins and fats into glucose.

Diabetics often look towards the keto diet for easy blood sugar management.

That is true, if you’re not eating any carbohydrates blood sugar management is much easier. But that does not mean that it’s healthy.

First of all, the keto diet is extremely difficult to sustain, going out to eat, going to friends houses, even at home, it is difficult to avoid all carbohydrates. Which is why most people that go on the keto diet within a couple years have put on much more fat than they began with because they’re not sticking to it 100%.

The more important issue or health is that you are not getting any fiber, nor are you getting phytonutrients that you need, fruits and vegetables contain very important phytonutrients that help our bodies do thousands of important functions, including keeping your immune system working properly.

If you want to follow a good diet that helps you put on muscle, and decrease fat, choose a balanced diet. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables eat lean proteins, eat healthy fats, and healthy grains.
